PTA Board: The Parent Teacher Association (PTA) consists of the parents and teachers of the Christian Montessori School at Lake Norman. Several parents and teachers have been selected to serve on the Executive Board of the PTA. This group serves as the governing body along with the Head of School. PTA Mission: To support and speak on behalf of children and youth in schools To assist parents in developing skills they need to raise and protect their children To encourage parent and public involvement in the school Volunteerism: At the Christian Montessori School at Lake Norman, parent involvement is essential and has a significant impact on our children's classrooms and the greater school. Additionally, your participation adds to the 'community spirit' affirmed by Montessori education, and volunteer statistics are often a factor when applying for school grants. Thus, all families are required to complete a minimum of 10 volunteer hours per school year. By now, we hope you have completed and submitted the Volunteer Opportunities form. Please remember to complete the Volunteer Credit form as you complete your volunteer activities. Thank you for your support, involvement and commitment to our school. In the past five years, we have accomplished some wonderful things at our school. Some of these include: Toddler indoor swing set ('03) Toddler indoor playground ('03) Handwriting Tools ('03) Gross Motor Equipment (balls, hoops, scooters)('03) Primary balance system ('03) Primary playground tent for shade('03) Books for classroom libraries('03) Elementary Village awnings ('03) Nature Trail maintenance and clearing ('03) Landscaping and Ground Beautification ('03) Storage shed for playground equipment Removal of Toddler/Primary patio walls Primary/Elementary Musical Instruments Toddler playground tent for shade Primary playground extension renovation Primary playground tricycles Acquiring 11 computers donated from UNC Charlotte Acquiring grants for software from Microsoft for these computers University of Richmond Technology Program for Kindergarten and Elementary program Barrier Island Scholarship Join US- Membership Application PTA Calendar of Events School Fundraising/Corporate Partners Boxtops Labels National PTA NC State PTA |
